Blue Flowering Ceanothus

Ceanothus
Ceanothus comes in many varieties and colors, and grows through forests and chaparral areas. The  stems of many varieties smell strongly of wintergreen when damaged.

The bushes make great habitat for nesting birds, particularly towhees and jays, and the flowers are always alive with buzzing bees.
